Okuyo Terms of Service

Welcome to Okuyo. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Okuyo mobile application ("App") provided by Dode Yazılım. By creating an account or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully.

1. Service Provider

Okuyo is a Turkish-language reading and learning app for children aged 6 and above, developed and operated by Dode Yazılım. For questions: [email protected].

2. Eligibility and Parental Acknowledgement

The person creating an account must be a parent or legal guardian aged 18 or older.
Children under 13 may use the App only under a parent-managed account and with parental supervision.
By creating an account, you represent that you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy on behalf of your child.
You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials (email, password, parent PIN).

3. Account and Profiles

Okuyo offers two ways of using the App:

Guest mode: You can try the App without an account. Progress is stored only on the device and is lost if the App is uninstalled or the device is changed.
Parent account: Created via email and password (or Apple/Google). One or more child profiles can be created under the account; all profiles are managed by the parent.

You may delete your account at any time, either from the App or by email. Data handling after account deletion is described in our Privacy Policy.

4. Free Use and Premium Subscription

Okuyo operates on a freemium model:

Free content: Basic letters, numbers, games and a selection of stories are available at no cost.
Premium subscription: Unlocks all content, advanced lessons, full story library and additional features. You may choose between monthly or annual plans.

Auto-renewal

Your subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
The renewal charge is billed to your Apple ID or Google Play account 24 hours before the period ends.
To manage or cancel your subscription, go to App Store › Apple ID › Subscriptions or Google Play › Subscriptions on your device. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period; no refunds are issued for remaining days.
Plan changes during the current period (monthly ↔ annual) are handled directly through the App Store / Play Store.

Payment and refunds

All payments are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play. You do not provide credit card or payment information to Dode Yazılım.
Refund requests must be submitted to Apple or Google in accordance with their respective policies. Dode Yazılım does not have direct authority to issue refunds for purchases made through these platforms.
Prices may vary by region and market conditions. Current prices are always displayed in the App at purchase time.

5. License and Use Rights

Dode Yazılım grants you a limited, non-transferable, non-exclusive, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes. This license covers use by you and members of your household only.

6. Prohibited Uses

You may not use the App to:

Engage in any activity that violates law, public order, or general moral standards
Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App
Copy, reproduce, resell, or redistribute content in unauthorized ways
Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access our servers
Attempt to access premium content without payment or manipulate the purchase system
Gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts

7. Intellectual Property

All text, stories, images, animations, sounds, music, mascot characters (including Okur), game mechanics, interface design, logos and brand elements within the App are owned by Dode Yazılım or used under license. No part of this content may be copied, republished, or commercially used without prior written permission.

8. User-Generated Content

For the safety of children, Okuyo does not provide any features for public user-generated content (chat, comments, photo uploads, etc.). Data such as child profile name, avatar choice, and learning progress are private and tied only to the parent account.

9. Changes to the Service

We may modify content, features, or pricing to continuously improve the App, with prior notice when changes are material. We will inform you of significant changes via the registered email address or in-app messaging. The price of your current subscription period will not change mid-term.

10. Service Interruptions and Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is". We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure. Temporary access issues may occur due to planned maintenance, server outages, or third-party service disruptions (Supabase, Apple, Google).

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Dode Yazılım shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App. Our total liability is limited to the amount you have paid to us for the App in the last 12 months.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you fail to comply with these Terms. Data retention and deletion after termination is governed by our Privacy Policy. You may also terminate your account at any time via the App or by email.

12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. The Istanbul Courts and Enforcement Offices shall have jurisdiction over any disputes arising from these Terms. Your rights under applicable consumer protection laws are reserved; consumer disputes may be brought before consumer arbitration boards in your place of residence. If you reside outside Türkiye, mandatory consumer protection provisions of your country of residence remain applicable.

13. Changes to These Terms

When we make material changes to these Terms, we will notify you on App launch or by email. Continuing to use the App after such changes means you accept the updated Terms. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates the most recent revision date.
